Saddleback Church Pastor Rick Warren welcomed members of the cast and filmmakers behind the new film THE GOOD LIE to his church’s main Orange County campus Saturday afternoon to discuss the movie that is earning rave reviews from faith critics and Christian influencers.

"THE GOOD LIE is a beautiful movie, well-acted with brilliant cinematography,” Warren said. "There's two great stories: One of them is the story that brings awareness to how millions of people are living in refugee camps around the world. The other story tells us you don't have to be perfect to make a difference... I think it's an Academy Award-quality movie."

Warren interviewed two stars of the film – Emmanuel Jal and Ger Duany – and two producers – Molly Smith and Thad Luckinbill – during Saddleback’s 4 p.m. Saturday service. Jal and Duany lived elements of the story told in the film as children, forced to live as refugees when a civil war tore apart their home country of Sudan in the 1980s.
