Think “Circumstantially.” Most skeptics demand a form of evidence that is simply unavailable to those of us who are studying historical events in the Bible: “direct evidence”. But most homicide cases are solved with what is known as “circumstantial evidence”, and knowing the difference is extremely important. J. Warner Wallace describes the distinctive nature of circumstantial evidence in Cold-Case Christianity. While a single piece of “direct” evidence is compelling on its own, “circumstantial” evidence can be just as compelling if the case is sufficiently cumulative.
