Hearing God’s Voice 101
If you want to hear His voice . . . read His Word.
God most often does not communicate with us audibly—He most often communicates through His Word. In between “In the beginning . . .” in Genesis and “Amen” in Revelation, God lets us know who He is, how He interacts with mankind, and more than anything else how much He loves us. As you read His Word, approach it with this prayer on your lips: “Lord, I need to hear a word from you today. Please, speak to me through your Word; help me to hear and to understand what you are saying to me.”
When you make a habit of reading God’s Word on a daily basis, and you pray that prayer, words you read will jump off the pages of the book and into your heart.
Have you ever had a time when you “heard” the voice of God while reading the Bible?
