Whether by magazine, mailbox, billboard, TV, or online pop-ups, we are perpetually inundated with advertisements. Every ad is created to convince us to attach such value to what’s being sold, that we exchange our precious time and money for their wares. But if we pause to pull back the curtain on their claims, much of what’s hawked holds only ‘perceived value.’ Materialism will consume our resources and distract us from what’s really valuable. Let’s remind ourselves that money can’t buy what the human heart longs for.
