Lent is a time where people dedicate their lives to Christ's work and sacrifice things such as T.V. which hinder us from doing God's good work. We need to be witnesses by sharing God's love story to others. Easter is a time where we celebrate God's son, Jesus's ressurrection from the grave. He willingly died for our sins on that cross so that all would recieve salvation through belief in Him alone. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotton son. That whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." Jesus died that ALL of our sins would be forgiven (past, present, and future) if only we believe in HIM. He was the lamb sacrificed for our sins (our perfect, Holy, and sinless God). He fullfilled the prophesies by doing so, and is coming again to take all of his beloved to live in heaven where we will live without sin, pain, or sorrow forever. On that day, we all will be judged according to how we lived our lives and spent the time God has given us. Those whose names which have been written in the BOOK OF LIFE will live forever and not be condemened. Christians (saints, those who love and live to honor God) will not be condemned, as their names WILL be written there. Jesus's blood shed for OUR sins has covered all of the beliver's sins when we ask for His forgiveness. Praise God! Also, lent should not be a time to skip church. God wants us to go to church. It honors and pleases Him when we set aside our own time to praise, glorify, honor, and learn more about Him. Lent is a time that reminds us to live our lives for Him- and not waste the short time He has given us on drugs, alchohol, junk food, and TV. God knows what is best for us and doesn't want us to waste ANY time. Life is short. That's why God gave us the Ten Commandments. These are not only rules that please God when followed, but they protect us from evil and the harm that comes from the world. Jesus loves us and wants the best for our lives. We need to share this good news with everyone so that they will know about God's wonderful gift of salvation!
