In 1981, a determined nun in Alabama began to produce Catholic TV programming out of her monastery's garage. Decades later, Mother Angelica's Eternal Word Television Network spans the globe. Part of her appeal lies in the comic insights and no-nonsense guidance she shared with viewers during her EWTN broadcasts in the 1980s.

Arrows of Love

We miss millions of tiny opportunities to be one with God during the day. We get something in our heads and it goes round and round; and first thing you know, half the day is gone, and you haven't been with the Lord.

All you have to do is find some commonality between what you are doing and what Jesus did. For instance, if you are traveling and fatigued, frustrated from running from one gate to another, ask yourself: "How many times did Our Lord make a journey without sleep? How tired His legs must have been walking miles and miles wearing sandals." See, you can create these little arrows of love, these points of commonality between yourself and the Lord before work, during work, or after work. It's so simple, but very powerful.
