It is a shame that American Bishops of the 20th Century couldn't follow Egwin's example and protect the children of the church. The ugliness of clergy child abuse has just reared its ugly head yet again here in Baltimore. A parish has been devastated by a 30 year old crime because a bishop allowed a criminal to remain in ministry.
