Sorry to be a detractor, but someone who preaches that obtaining wealth should be ones ultimate goal in a world of poverty is preaching directly against Jesus' assertion that the love of money is the root of many evils. That you would portray Rev Ike as a great spiritual leader strengthens my theory that the new modern day God is money, for which most of us will sacrifice anything. What a deporable philosophy!

One of the nicest, kind, and ecumenical leaders of the Jewish faith, Rev. Max Wall died this year. He was a great ecumenical leader, educator who beloved by all who knew him. I of the Catholic faith had great respect and love for this beloved man. He will truly be missed.

I'm sorry I spelled his name wrong. Warith Deen Mohammed and he actually died at the end of 2008, my mistake. But previous commentor was definitely right about the absence of Islamic leaders like Dr. Hassan Hathout.

Also Wallace Deen Muhammad died which Beliefnet has featured in other articles. ..very disappointed that there aren't any muslim leaders that died in 2009 on this list when they were surely aware of WD Muhammad.
