Beliefnet Call-Out: Send Us Your Sacrilege

Share your favorite kitschy/offensive religion-themed objects and places.

Do you have a collection of Biblical action figures? Squeaky-toy Buddhas? Holy water hairspray? Or have you been anywhere lately that mingles faith and commerce in a potentially unseemly or unusual way? Send us a picture!

Beliefnet would love to see the following:

  • Photos of cute, tacky, kitschy, funny, or offensive novelty items with religious themes
  • Photos of religion-themed places, clothing, art, or objects that seem to inherently contradict the faith they represent

Send your pictures to Editorialbeliefnet2@gmail.com along with a short description (around 3-5 sentences) that explains the image and why it's amusing or offensive to you.

    Deadline is Thursday, August 31.

    Requirements:
  • Email subject headline should say: Sacrilege
  • Maximum submission of 3 images per person
  • Photos of your work must be in .jpg or .gif format
  • You must include a short description (around 3-5 sentences) along with the photo(s) that explains the image and why it's amusing, interesting, or offensive to you
  • Please include your name, your city/state of residency, and a phone number we can use to contact you in case we have questions

Note: All images and writing must be original to you. If you are submitting a work that has been previously published elsewhere, please make sure there will be no conflict before submitting to us. Per our Terms of Service, Beliefnet trusts that you will only send material you own, and not other people's copyrighted material. By sending it to us, you grant Beliefnet and our editorial partners the right to use it in any form.
