I once belonged to a small house church. We would have maybe six dishes per potluck. Once every single dish had broccoli in it! Fortunately since we all brought broccoli, we all liked to eat it, even the kids.

Dear Flutesinger, I may not be a Mormon, but all the Mormons I know really know how to cook.

As a Mormon, we have jokes about green jello salad and "funeral potatoes", but one of my favorite recipes to take to a church supper is Hot Chicken Salad. 2 Cups diced cooked chicken 2 cans cream of chicken soup 4 tsp diced onion 2 cups cooked rice 1 tsp salt 1 1/2 cups mayonaise (not Miracle Whip) 1 cup slivered almonds 6 hard cooked eggs, chopped 2 cups diced celery 6 tsp lemon juice Mix all ingredients together in large casserole dish. Top with rice krispies cereal. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until bubbly. Makes alot. Very rich tasting. Yum. This is a favorite at Relief Society luncheons with rolls and green salad.
