RM: "The stone rolled away to prove that Jesus had already risen. How do we know that? Because the grave clothes are exactly in the place where Jesus had worn them. The stone rolled away to prove to the Marys initially and prove to everybody since that the tomb is empty. That is the hinge on the Christian faith. Crucifixion deals with our sin. The empty tomb proves to us and gives us confidence that there is life beyond death and that we serve a God who is alive. Not a dead god. Not the gods of the Greek mountains. Not a dead prophet like they do in the Muslim cemetery out there. Not a statue made of stone [or] gold - but we serve a living God."
