Mariano Rivera left the mound for good to conclude his New York Yankees season. The 43-year-old finished his remarkable career with 652 saves more than any other pitcher in history while helping the franchise win five World Series titles in 19 seasons. Through it all, Rivera did his job with professionalism and class, a rarity in sports today. You will not hear the last of No. 42. He’s giving back to his community, building churches and told USA Today that the legacy left is for others to enjoy.
