K’naan - Muslim

Somalia native K’naan has become known as both a rapper and a Muslim. His style is part-reggae, part hip-hop, and part poetic protest. He is known for his positive themes, as he tries to avoid the “gangsta” rap clichés that populate much of rap music today. His experience in Somalia influenced him deeply, and the world he grew up in is very different from that of many of his rap colleagues. He keeps the faith by promoting peace and staying positive.
