average age is 80, sounds dreary and depressing. Indeed, some of the chorus
members actually passed away during the making of it. But rather than depress
the audience by making them think about their impending deaths,Young@Heart inspires people to make what
time they have count. Watching geriatric singers belt their hearts out to
young, contemporary tunes like the Ramones’ I
Wanna Be Sedated and Bob Dylan’s Forever
Young carries with it a special magic. And the moment when one elderly man
sits down to sing Coldplay’s Fix You
is incredibly poignant. If the Young@Heart chorus can be so full of life, why
