'How Sweet the Sound...'
Send us your own recording of 'Amazing Grace' and you could be featured on Beliefnet.
With the release of the movie "Amazing Grace" on February 23, we would like to showcase your renditions of this timeless song. The film tells the story of William Wilberforce, a British politician who successfully fought to end slavery in the British empire--a cause in which he was strongly influenced by John Newton, a former slave ship owner who wrote the now-classic hymn.
We’re open to any style--gospel, classical, rock, rap, etc.--as long as the song is "Amazing Grace." We encourage entries from amateur choirs and children’s choirs, in addition to professional and semi-professional ensembles. Or, you can simply record yourself singing along to the song by yourself or with a friend.
Please email audio files of your recording to BeliefnetAmazingGrace@gmail.com or mail CDs (no cassettes, please) to:
Amazing Grace Callout
303 Park Avenue South
New York, NY 10010
Please include contact information (full name, email address, phone number, and mailing address) wth your submission. The postmark deadline for entries is March 5, 2007. If your recording is selected, we will contact you.
All recordings must be original to you. If you are submitting a work that has been previously recorded, please make sure there will be no conflict before submitting to us. We just want to remind you that, per our terms of service, Beliefnet trusts that you only send material you actually own (i.e. not other people's copyrighted materials) and by sending it to us, you grant us and our editorial partners the right to use it in any form.
