Coming out to theaters next month, “Grace Unplugged” will surprise Christian and non-Christians audiences alike. The reason for this is simple. “Grace Unplugged” is good story told by actors who know how to act. It is realistic without the cheesy aftertaste found from similar fare. “Grace Unplugged” focuses on the father/daughter dynamic of a former one hit wonder father (James “Desperate Housewives” Denton) and his daughter Grace (AJ Michalka), who wants to be a singer. Johnny Trey left the rock scene after years of drug abuse, became a Christian and turned his life around. Trey’s daughter wants what he had despite his cautions. Shawnee Smith (“Saw”, TV’s “Becker”) does an outstanding job as Trey’s wife and mother of Grace.
