Bestselling author tells Oprah she's battling cancer, but not mad at God

The co-writer of "The Shadow Effect" with Deepak Chopra and Marianne Williamson and "The Dark Side of the Light Chasers" was furious with the Almighty ... at first

I admire Debbie for having the courage to petition her 'higher power' which she now knows as God. What I did NOT know until the sentence immediately preceding & the sentence immediately following the 'Enjoying nature' photo on pg. 8 was that Debbie's 'higher power' was OPRAH!! ... But in hindsight, it makes perfect sense, Oprah Winfrey being the 4th person of the Blessed Trinity 'n' all. :-)

I am happy for Debbie and I will keep her and her family in my prayers. On another note, I feel that this should be a lesson for the "new age" movement. Debbie said she should have been protected because of the work she does in the world. Nobody is protected....this is real life. Being human and going through the process of suffering. So many of these "teachers" are wacky, narcissistic and on the brink of being flat out nuts with some of their teachings. I am NOT a conservative when it comes to religion, but a lot of these new agers need to become old agers and retire!
