When the leader of the Company of Dwarves, Thorin Oakenshield, believes his people have the right to own the only Arkenstone. So instead of sharing it on Lonely Mountain, Thorin began to despise Baggins more, who had the stone in tow, using it has bargaining tool. Baggins offers Elvenking and Bard the stone to avoid a war. In turn, Thorin was infuriated and called for Baggins death. Thorin later repented for his sin against Baggins, and the two made peace. Forgiveness and humility is never an easy road to take, but like Baggins and Thorin, it’s the only way to inner peace.
