Many of us struggle with the flaws and imperfections of the church. Why isn’t the church more together, we ask? I spent years criticizing those faults and went so far as to walk out the door, keeping my distance for almost two years. I left the church burdened by questions but eventually brought those same questions back to church. I realized that my doubts about faith belonged inside the space of the church, not outside. Sitting in the sanctuary one day, after years of struggle, I thought to myself -- Okay, I’ll call this place home. I’ll bring my questions and my doubts. I’ll wait for God here in this space.
