On my way from coast to coast I interviewed great spiritual teachers like Deepak Chopra and Byron Katie, and leading scientists studying well-being and positive psychology authors: Phil Zimbardo, James Pennebaker, Sonja Lyubomirsky, Barbara Fredrickson, and Caroline Miller. I also spoke with hundreds of people who crossed my way on the road. This research, along with 6,000 miles of contemplation while riding through the country’s back roads, led me to the following five steps to finding inner peace, a collage of input from recent research and from wisdom traditions, and a summary of a process I went through in my own life.
