I believe to become a Christian, you have to first acknowledge that you are a sinner. When you pray to Him, be honest with both Him and yourself. According to the Bible we ALL have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. So when you ask His forgiveness you have to truly know that you are a sinner and truly want Him to forgive those sins and turn away from them. Then you have to ask Him to come into your heart and become the Lord of your life. Then you let God lead you in everything you do for the rest of your life here on Earth and when you die, or Christ comes back, whichever comes first, you will go to Heaven to be with Him forever and ever. Lead your life according to God's Will, study the Word (the Bible), and pray. God wants you to have a personal relationship with Him. He loves us so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die so that we could have forgiveness for our sins. Spend time with Him, by praying AND listening, and spending time in His Word.
