Tom Hanks, really? What about the Da Vinci Code? Didn't he star in that? Whoever is trying to portray Tom Hanks as Christian friendly or a role model should hear some of what he has said about the day's issues. Yes, he has done some good family friendly movies in the past, but please do some research and at least know where someone is coming from. Otherwise they will surely lead some people astray.

I enjoy Tom Hanks for many of his movies. Forest Gump is not allowed in our house because of the awful barrage of filthy language that is in the Vietnam scenes. His movie "BIG" is our favorite movie with him in it.

First of all, the article makes it very clear that these are the words of CHARACTERS played by Tom Hanks in films, not the actual words written by Tom Hanks, Secondly Tom Hanks produced the film Apollo 13 and a TV series on the heroes of the astronaut program. He also produced Saving Private Ryan, a great patriotic American movie. He obviously loves his country. Thirdly, when I went to public school, the original pledge of allegiance did NOT contain the words "Under God." The pledge was written in 1892 and "Under God" was not added until 1954. Blessings, Neverland

alab I would just like to say as an actor, Tom Hanks is terrific as an actor. He however did not write those quotes. It is my understanding he does not believe in keeping God in "The Pledge of Allegiance". At an event I was watching on TV, he was leading this, and left out "under God". This was a great dissapointment. I have never viewed him in the same light since. He said it like this: "one nation ---------- with liberty and justice for all. God has always been with us and is the foundation of the United States. Please don't be misled by others who forget God. Place your trust in God.

As we all know, yes, writers have provided alot of the sayings (lines) that Tom Hanks has used, but he is a tremendous actor and many of you seem to forget he is also a director and has added his word and participated in, the finale say of alot of his movies..Keep 'em coming Mr. Hanks...I loved you in everything you ever played...

While I am a huge fan of Tom Hanks (today's Henry Fonda or Everyman), I must take exceptionn with you giving him the credit for the statements he 'allegedly' made in todays' feature story. While Hanks may be the ultimate actor for our generation, a WRITER, not Mr. Hanks came up with the quotes you attribute to him. Before there can be an actor, there must be a script. Shame on you for not giving credit where credit is due.

I have been watching Tom Hanks on Fox News and other channels recently. He has become very political and leans heavily to the left. Like most actors, he thinks he has the answer to all of the world's problems. I believe actors play so many parts they begin to believe they are like the characters they portray. They have no true self identify and struggle trying to show who they really are and what they really believe. All of Tom's quotes were written for him; they were not original. The real Tom seems to be somewhat of a pinhead in my opinion.

Life (like a box of chocolates) is indeed full of surprises (chocolates) but its no surprise that this is arguably one of Tom Hanks most famous character quotes since it comes from one of his most famous and lovable characters - Forest Gump. Mike K., Sgt. US Marine Corps: 1969-1973
