Jan Shipps should know that translations by Joseph Smith, having been affirmed by 14 Egyptologists, as being not translatable. The Rosetta Stone, a primer for Hieroglyphics-to-Greek-to-Hieretics found in Egypt in 1799, is the compiler for translations, with Egyptian read as easily as Latin or other languages of today. This brings us to the translation of the Book Of Abraham, a compendium of a several thousand word-description by JS, yet the number of hieroglyph's that are the Base of this 'guidance' are <20 pictographs. The 14 scrutinizers convey the attempt by JS as: '....mere gibberish....", ....a farrago of impostures...", "....difficult to take this man seriously in his atttempt at translation, getting everything wrong...", Impudent fraud...." The archivist Richley Crapo, in Salt Lake said that "The Papyrus we have does not translate into anything like the Book Of Abraham." Also, the 'Alphabet and Grammar' book, is a guideline for understanding the hieroglyphics: A simple profile.....Pictograph.....then the meaning right beside it. Joseph Smith meant to clarify the reading of each Hieroglyph, BUT AGAIN, the true translations of his attempt met with whithering description. "This translator did not get ONE CORRECT TRANSLATION of these hieroglyph's, 174 attempts and not a single correct translation." Apparent deception from the inset......... No wonder The Church would not come forward with the translations from these several references ! -P-
