With a common upbringing, as the son of a teacher and a bookkeeper in England, Bob Hoskins, grew up in London and began acting at age 27 after a variety of careers didn't bring him the life he wanted to live. He left school at 15, and the rest is history!
From stage to screen, he wowed his audiences with a booming presence and an unmatched sense of humor. His acting career was only hampered by his progressing Parkinson's disease diagnosis in 2011, after which he led a happy off-screen life with his family.
