Katie Couric was raised in Arlington, Virginia, and is a graduate of the University of Virginia, and worked on the school newspaper. In high school, she was an intern for an all-news radio station in Washington, D.C., also the location of her first job out of college, at ABC News. She later joined the NBC affiliate in D.C., where her work earned her an Emmy Award. With a career including 15 years on The Today Show, Katie has won the hearts of American viewers. She's branched out to new endeavors in recent years, including film and television cameo appearances, and lending her voice to the animated film "Shark Tale". Katie has 2 daughters, Ellie and Carrie, and is a shining example of the ideal role model for women and girls everywhere.
