- fun faith fact! Gary Allan is one of the few Mormon country stars
Gary Allan Herzberg was born in La Miranda, California. A&M Records offered him a recording contract when he was fifteen years old. While his parents supported his musical career, they wanted Gary to complete high school first. In 1996 Decca Records signed Gary and he recorded two albums with them until they went under. He was then signed to MCA where he recorded six albums.
Some of his most popular songs are “Man to Man,” “Tough Little Boys,” “Nothing on but the Radio,” and “Best I Ever Had.” Gary is a Mormon and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
